Hey Travoodies Hey I ventured to Nassau, Bahamas and it was everything and then some. Shout out to Leanya, my dear friend, for being my personal chauffeur for my trip. I had the amazing opportunity to round the hour is a little over 1 hr. However, you know the trip is never complete if I did not get a chance to enjoy some local cuisine. Let me tell you about Mckenzie's Fresh Fish & Conch located under "the bridge" as they say. You can find this carribean restaurant near Potters Dock nestled in a chain of other little spots. The island tiki hut vibe is what you definitley get when enter the establishment. The restaurant prides itself on being amzing seafood authentically prepared bahamian. The service could have been a little better. We seemed to have to flag down the attention of a waitress to get some assistance. #1: Started it off with the conch salad. I did not order it initially but the table shared a bowl. From my true bahamian friends it was not all that. It could have used a little more seasoning or pizzazz. #2: I went on to order the cracked conch dinner combo, and we also had the fried pork combo. First let me say that cracked conch was indeed good. It came paired with peas and rice and a cole slaw that I could have definitley gotten seconds of. #3: The porkchop was huge and seasoned extremely well. We washed the dinner down with fruit punch and had no room for anything else. Recommend: 7 out of 10 Will I return: Yes You should definitely try it out if you are ever in the area. #TheTravoodie #BlackFoodie #YelpEats #BlackTraveler#TravelInfluencer#blacktravelblogger#blacktravelfeed#globaleats#FoodBlogger#travelblogger#eatnorthamerica#globaleats#flavorfulfoodiez#theloserfam Like, Share, & Follow Me DM or Email for Collab #TheTravoodieLife

McKenzie's is a cozy little spot conveniently located just on the other side of the bridge from Paradise Island. My family ate twice during our stay. Our first experience was eating in. The booths in the back offer nice views of the water and of the beautiful mural on the wall. We ordered conch salad, conch fritters, cracked conch, snapper, and grouper. The food came out quickly in to-go containers. The conch salad was delightfully fresh, the fritters beautifully brown and doughy, and my cracked conch was crispy with the perfect amount of bite. Drinks were reasonably priced for the island. I'd rate that experience a 5/5. I was so impressed with the conch fritters when we dined in that I went back to grab take-out for lunch a couple days later. Contrary to our dine-in experience, the fritters took 30 minutes to come out. They were placed on a paper plate wrapped in tinfoil (despite them being served in a to-go container when we dined in?) and were far greasier, darker, and chewier than what I had received previously. I'd rate them a 2.5/5. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. As it stands, I'm rounding to a 4. Your mileage may vary based on the cook!

Omg omg omg. My boyfriend took me to the Bahamas for my birthday this year and Mckenzies came highly recommended so it was first to knock off on my list. Boy oh boy did it not disappoint! I got it and could not stop craving it again and again over the next few days of our trip. He cuts the conch fresh (he explained the conch in Nassau is not farmed, it's actually caught fresh by scuba divers and dispersed to businesses on the island). He adds fresh squeezed lemon and orange juice on it with a mix of habanero pepper (you decide the spice level, I asked for it extremely spicy and it was incredible), plus a myriad of mangos, tropical fruit and veggies. Order the tropical conch salad extra spicy and thank me later guys!

There are two locations. They are very close so I see the pictures are mislead. I tried both. At the Marina village We shared one conch salad with fruit 20$ in total. We liked the dish very much. The lady before us asked for two salads extra spicy. The chef made all three salads mtogether and ours was very hot. We suffered when we enjoyed. The conch is very fresh and the price was reasonable. Will come back again. Off the island, this one has a larger menu and cheaper price. 12/15 conch salad without it with fruits.

Super fresh conch salad made right to order. The person makes it slices the fresh conch, adds tomatoes, onions, peppers, salt, lemon and orange juices. Tosses it and serves in a compostable plate. Once served, dig in and enjoy one of the best conch salads in the Island. Not cheap, but freshness comes at a price.

We tried mckenzies (original location) as a way to try local food and get away from the resort. We did our research and this place came up a few times. Food was good, we tried the conch salad, fish and fries, and fries snapper. We had coconut juice too and was very good The service is meh but food was very good and worth a try.
